INSITES PARTNER APPLICATION 2023
October 2023: InSites is inviting new organisations to join the year 2 of the pilot programme
Application Process - APPLICATIONS OPEN 17th OCTOBER 2023
Application Process
Year 2 of this pilot will open up to ICS, General Acute and Specialist Acute Provider Trusts, Children Trusts, Mental Health Trusts, Community Trusts or Ambulance Trusts based in England. Eligible organisations are invited to apply via the application portal from Oct 17th 2023 to Nov 3rd 2023.
Organisations will be selected following the review of all. Applications will be assessed based on:
- Commitment - how committed is the organisation to optimise use of the InSites funding and contribute to the objectives of the programme?
- Readiness - what is the track record of the organisation when it comes to innovation and partnership working?
- Innovation Vision - how clear is the vision of the organisation and how does it match to the InSites set up?
With this being a pilot, the team welcomes all feedback (including on the selection process). Organisations that are currently not eligible to apply can express interest to join at a potential later stage by emailing: mse.cepinsites@nhs.net
Programme Duration
This programme is designed to run on a 3-year cycle. This year 2 pilot phase of the programme is currently funded until March 2024, in line with NHSE annual programme budget setting processes. Subject to your organisation’s governance process, carrying over some of the funding received to the next financial year to continue work might be possible. A decision whether the programme will be extended for another year and whether the same sites will continue to be part of it is not expected before March 2024.
Programme commitment required
Participating sites are expected to make the required resources available to actively engage in the peer network, test, evaluate and scale innovations and openly share results and lessons learned with the other sites on the programme. This includes regular reporting to the coordinating hub about progress and milestones and sharing of project related documentation to aide harmonised processes across all sites. The clear understanding that a shared joint adoption process is the key objective for year 2 is key, potentially via a shared Dynamic Purchasing System or Procurement Framework. The Memorandum of Understanding and the attached KPIs outline further what is expected of the sites. For further information please contact mse.cepinsites@nhs.net.
Programme Offer
The programme offers funding of £200k per site to be spent in alignment with the objectives. Programme participants will join the peer network already created with the first ten Sites. This peer network is regularly sharing information about ongoing projects, best practice and lessons learnt. Shared innovation objectives will be pooled by the coordinating hub and MSE to match suitable innovators. By participating in the programme, sites will also support the development of a standardised approach of implementing innovation in the NHS, thus benefiting other sites and innovators seeking to implement innovations in the NHS in England.
